Terms dates for season 2018-2019 are listed here.

Entry into LSR is by invitation after passing an assessment. The dates of these assessments will be posted on the calendar and all those on the waiting list will be sent an invitation to attend. Your child will be required to ski from the top and is assessed on their technical skiing skills and their ability to perform controlled parallel turns on the steep section. We ideally require a minimum Hillend level of 6/7.

The number of training places offered at each trial will vary and may on occasion be very limited. Occasionally after the assessment those of higher level of ability and age may be invited directly into our Thursday sessions if there are spaces in these sessions.

All trainees initially attend training on a Wednesday evening. Warm up is from 5.30-6pm and the coaching session itself is from 6-7.30pm. Trainees should be prepared to spend up to a year in this session. They will be assessed on an ongoing basis on their ability to move on to the more advanced Thursday early session at the end of the year-  this will be entirely at the coaches’ discretion.

The Thursday early session begins with warm up from 5.30-6pm and the coaching session is from 6-7.30pm.

Trainees may then advance from Thursday early to Thursday late. Again, after assessment by the coaches on ability, but not before they reach U14/16. Warm up is from 7-7.30pm and the coaching is from 7.30-9pm.

Once the trainee moves out of the children’s age categories i.e. U18 and older (also known as Junior Racing) then they move to Monday night training.

We also offer Masters training on a Wednesday night 7:30-9pm for people older than 30yrs ex racers or novices who want to have fun and improve their own skiing with LSR coaches.

More details of these sessions can be found in the Coaching section.
